Family history:

Datntu’s parents were Star Fleet officers one of the 1st of Trills to be accepted to the Academy, and attain command of a Starship.

 

Father: Captain Demities (Retired)

Commanded the Ambassador Class Starship Yamagushi for some 32 earth standard years before retiring to Trill to be a diplomatic liaison to the Federation Counsel.

 

Mother: Admiral Ilana:

 Commanded the starship Congo on the frontier of klingon space during the uneasy times, with relations with klingons. She has been noted for being one of the commanders that responded to the events of Praxis and the Kitohmer conference. During this time she was one of the 1st women to attain command of a heavy Cruiser with the help of then Captain Sulu of the Excelsior of  with whom she was his 1st officer for a time.  She paved the way for these women to attain command of their ships ( Demora Sulu of USS Enterprise B\ Savik of USS Armstrong\  Rachel Garret of Enterprise C)

 

*Admiral Ilana currently serves as fleet Admiral sectors 001 through 032, advisor to the Federation Counsel, and President.

 

Symbiont:

     Dantu’s Symbiont is 200 earth standard years old, and Dantu is its 4th host. The Prior hosts are/have been specialists in Warp Field theory, Diplomacy, Science, and Computer specialties. Dantu received his symbiont some 2 yrs before attending Starfleet academy. He struggled in the beginning with all the memories, and lives of his hosts in the beginning, but was recommended to the joining committee by a  then junior Trill Diplomat named Dax who is close friends to Dantu’s father.

Ensign Dantu excelled in many areas such as mathematical theories, projections, and analysis. I believe his greatest strength is in the area of Intelligence and Tactical impressions and analysis. I have recommended this cadet to be on the command tract, and offered his service record to Captain Tolbin of Excalibur. I believe under her command the qualities shown here at the Academy, along with seasoning, and experience of being posted to the Excalibur, will give this officer what he needs to be an exceptional addition to Star Fleet, and the crew of the Excalibur.

 

Personal note:

Fleet Admiral Ilana has a tendency to oversee her son's career track without the knowledge of Dantu. He is a fine officer who with time develop into an exceptional one, but I have no doubt that his mother will have a "talk" with you concerning him. I have full faith in your abilities to handle her, just remember she has 4 stars on her bars, as opposed to 4 pips on yours. No captain wants or needs this, that why I recommended this officer to you. You have the ability to bring him up the ranks, and pay no attention to his mother. As I see here, she is not your Sector commander anyway, at least not at the moment.
